The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house having a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only nsfas login funds individuals who are researching or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
